Alternate Assessment Collaborative (U.S. Department of Education Student Achievement and School Accountability Programs Enhanced Assessment Grant S368A0001)
(2003-2005)
$1.7 million

• Worked with the collaborative to improve a variety of alternate assessment strategies, by increasing their technical soundness, accessibility, efficiency, and feasibility for measuring adequate yearly progress.
• Served as lead developer for the mathematics performance tasks.
• Assisted with assessment development, production, and implementation of the study.

Consortium for Alternate Assessment Validity and Experimental Studies (CAAVES)
(2006-2009)
$1.5 million
• Led the development of modified items for the multi-state, experimental study examining the effect of item modifications on the testing preferences and test performances of students with and without disabilities.
• Constructed online test forms including flash technology.
• Manages the modified assessment project from development and implementation to reporting and dissemination.

Operationalizing Alternate Assessment for Science Inquiry Skills (OAASIS)
(2008-2009)
$1.1 million

• Collaborates with partner states and universities to oversee the development of an alternate assessment based on modified achievement standards in the subject area of science.

Idaho’s Electronic Center for Alternate Assessment’s Scoring (ECAAS)
(2008-2010)
$1 million

• Works with the ECAAS team to design the system for electronic evidence collection, processing, and storage.
• Collaborates with team members to refine scoring procedures and to create a system for providing constructive feedback to teachers about student performance.
• Provides professional development to teachers on instructionally sensitive assessment and collection of evidence.
