It's 80 degrees this weekend. What perfect camping weather!

I've been wanting a pair of Uggs for some time. Yesterday, we were in Frank's Outdoor World when sparkle boots jumped on to my feet and insisted that I take them home. How could I resist sequined Uggs?

On the first Thursday each month, you're sure to find us at the Wrought Iron Grill (WIG) for Beer Appreciation Night. Mysweetwilliam meets several of our friends, and they enjoy the beer tasting and food pairings. I pull up a booth and enjoy great food. The beer tasters take turns stopping by to visit with me. Everybody has a great night. Tonight, and for the next 11ish Beer Appreciation Nights, we're missing part of the clan. Our friend Chris is currently deployed. Fortunately, his lovely bride Denise is uber creative and created "Flat Chris." He joined us tonight. It isn't the same, but it did help.

Big John arrived yesterday afternoon from Maine. We've been counting the days until his visit. He brings us welcomed laughter and instant music. He wasn't here an hour before guitars were out being tuned.

I could have gone to the SPAM Museum today had sleep not been more important. See, these are the things I miss out on when visiting great places like St Paul, Minnesota and don't take time off for adventure.

Step 1: Avoid the company portal at all costs.

Step 2: Convince yourself that Columbus Day is a company holiday, while not actually consulting the holiday list hidden on said company portal.

Step 3: Take the Friday before off to take advantage of the long weekend.

Step 4: Make reservations to go camping until that Monday.

Step 5: Discover that Columbus Day isn't actually a company holiday.

Step 6: Take a vacation day.

Step 7: Decide that it is life's way of saying "slow down."
