April 20, 2011: Zero Inbox Policy
I find myself reading a lot of things related to working more efficiently. Last year, I adopted a zero inbox policy. I use a three folder system: Archive (stuff I'm probably mostly done with), Follow-up (stuff I need to do), and Hold (stuff that is coming around the bend, but that doesn't require action). I work with a bunch of techie types and it seems we all try to manage our work by being uber efficient. I've often ranted (politely) about email behaviors that annoy me... I love THIS comic strip from The Oatmeal.
I have also bragged a little about my zero inbox policy. Tonight, my boss/friend sent me this.
Looks like he got to the bottom of the barrel himself!
If you're interested in more information about the system I use to manage my email, check out this article from Lifehacker.
